CopyrightCopyright is one of the primary and original forms of intellectual property.  It applies to information that is “substantive” and “discrete” and that is affixed in a tangible medium of expression.   Copyright is a statutory creation that provides the creator of a work certain benefits, most notably, a right of exclusivity and the ability to control who may gain from it financially.  The purpose of copyright is to incentivize the creation of new works, which it does by preventing others than the creator from profiting from the work.  While a copyright attaches to a work as soon as it is affixed without the need for registration, there are some benefits to federal registration.

Judd Law Group advises clients on the complete spectrum of copyright issues. We assist with copyright registration, provide IP asset counseling, handle licensing and sales of copyrights and other IP assets, and negotiate and litigate disputes over the same.
